“Beautiful state park with many nice hiking trails at different levels. The park is dog friendly as long as they are on a leash and you pick up after your pet. Playgrounds are in good condition and fun for kids. Nice camping, picnic areas, and cabins. Helpful staff. Definitely a good place for a family visit or a solo hike”

“We had a wonderful experience for my son's 6th birthday! The event and marketing manager Regina was quick to answer questions and respond to emails and phone calls. We booked the red carpet package and had a hostess with us the entire time. Elizabeth took great care of everyone from the minute we got there. From getting bowling shoes, bowling balls, drink pitchers, entering names into the system for the bowling game. She even offered candles and a lighter for the cake! It is the little things that go a long way. This is one of the most relaxing birthday parties we have had and was stress free! Thanks to a great team and effort made by them. Can't wait to book another party in the future! Chelsea Baca”

“They catered a wedding for us in Thrall, TX, last weekend and did a fantastic job. (about 140 people) Lots of variety - including a vegetarian entrée. Catfish, Cajun chicken, and gumbo were great, too!”

“Breathing! Had a lovely weekend at the Tree House, if you want to escape the city noise, then the Tree House is for you. My husband and I enjoyed the Colorado River, Nature at its finest, and the Peace and Quiet!! The accommodations were excellent. The amenities for indoor and outdoor cooking were superb! The comfort level was 5 star! But above all the hospitality from Sandy and Mike is one we will take from our getaway weekend! Thank you Sandy and Mike for making our stay a great one! 🤗”

“This review is specially for Joe the cashier who so kindly allowed me to plug my bottle warmer in the store so I could warm a bottle for my very hungry and screaming 3 month old. I was on the road going home from a family thanksgiving and still had an hour to drive when my baby awoke from her nap and was apparently ravenous. She will not take a cold bottle at all so this little store was a godsend in the middle of nowhere. Joe was so understanding and let me come to the back with my crying baby and toddler to use an outlet to warm a bottle, all while my baby was screaming. Warmed it and fed her and she was a happy baby again so I could drive the next hour in peace. Thanks so much again, Joe.”

“I can't say enough good things about James Beck at Centum Oak Realty. I'm a new doc and first-time home buyer, moving to Bastrop from 2500 miles during COVID. What's more, I'm still finishing up my training and there was no way for me to come down to look at properties in person. I talked to two realtors before James and both of them kinda brushed me off. James listened to what I had to say, asked a couple thoughtful questions, and then he hit the ground running. One of us would find a new listing, James would go to house to look at them, and then we would do a FaceTime walk-through with his phone or iPad. The market everywhere is hot right now. However, with the Tesla plant being built and a lot of high-earning professionals moving to Bastrop, the market there is HOT. James gave me sound advice, scheduled viewings and conversations around my busy and unpredictable schedule as a medical resident, and never once failed to get in to see a house at short notice on my behalf. When it came to submitting offers, he knew what he was doing and helped me understand how things work. Yesterday, I closed on a gorgeous, historic home in downtown Bastrop and I couldn't be happier. I won't let anyone I know and love in the area go with any other realtor. Do yourself a favor and give this guy a call.”

“we stopped here after a camping trip on the river, we were a big group and they accommodated us so quickly! the food was amazing, I got the chopped brisket baked potato & a peach cobbler with butter pecan ice cream! Lindsay at the counter was super sweet & we even had someone (I think it was the grill master?) come check up on us and joked around with us! seriously the best experience ever. i don't go to Bastrop often but now this might just be my new fave BBQ spot ✨️🫶🏼”

“I can't say enough about this fella, five stars just aren't enough. I was traveling from South TX to East TX today when my diesel pickup went into limp mode near Bastrop. I googled the nearest diesel repair shop and found "Center Diesel Service". So I called to see if they could help me and unfortunately for me he was covered up with service calls. So he suggested that I limp it to the auto parts store and have the codes read. I sent him all the codes and while he was taking care of other customers he diagnosed mine. He gave me suggestions on reseting the codes and got me back on the road. I offered to send cash but he refused, he said he enjoyed helping people. I have to say, he's the nicest fella I never met. Thank you, Sir & may God bless you & your family. Merry Christmas my friend!”

“If you like carne asada / bistec steak tacos this is your spot! Tacos are decent in size, seasoned well topped with onions and cilantro. Add a squirt of lime and green hot sauce and your taste buds will be swirling with authentic Mexican flavors. After a half dozen visits this taco spot earns a great review for being so consistent! The atmosphere is nice especially for an outdoorish taco stand. Parking lot needs work but they do a great job with decor and great pictures of their menu items. Looks great! The ladies at the ordering booth can be a bit to the point so be sure to know what you want before ordering at the window. Otherwise they’re generally fairly friendly overall! Did I mention the horchata!? Perfect! Full of flavor and very refreshing! It’s not at all watery like you often find at other places. Probably the best horchata I’ve found around town! 3 steak tacos and a large horchata under $20 ain’t to bad these days! (Some other review mentioned it was expensive, hate to break it to ya man but steak and everything theses days is expensive! That’s what happens when money is printed from thin air, inflation!) There’s plenty of more good to be said here but overall this place has been very good! I look forward to eating many more tacos 🌮 here! Thanks again!”
