Love the Chapel and the beautiful flowers outside. I enjoyed reading the history on all the placards along the mission. I had an enjoyable walk on the trail.
Neat little place to explore. We lived in four years before we found Mission Espada and we found it on a bike trip down the San Antonio River walk. I would recommend exploring the missions on a bike trip along the river as there is not too much to see at each of the missions
Except for the Alamo, I love all of the missions. You must visit all the San Antonio missions to actually understand how the history of the religion and region are/we’re connected. You Must see the free video at mission San Jose. Until the video, I didn’t know the missions in San Antonio Texas are directly connected across the states to California.
My favorite of the missions. A lot of the original framework is still there and you can experience it up close and personal. Quiet area of town. Nice spot for a peaceful afternoon walk with your family.
It is so worth exploring Mission Espada providing a step back in time, far removed from the hussle and bustle of the city. Serene and peaceful setting. May it stay that way. Thanks to hard-working native American bands who built all the missions, while it dramatically changed their lives and cut their freedoms.
