I was among the first few for round one covid vaccine. Amazingly organized and efficient.
Second round they also were very organized, helpful and caring. Thank you Methodist Mckinney for helping make this so easy.
I had a wonderful experience here. I was transferred here from urgent care around 1:00am with a diagnoses of acute apendecitis.
Not only am I a hypochondriac and have diagnosed anxiety, but I have also never been in surgery before (other than my tonsils when J was 6 and don’t remember much).
The nurses both did a wonderful job of calming me down, especially the night nurse who stayed to talk with me around 5:00am about my concerns. Additionally, the two men who brought me down for surgery calmed my nerves by having a light conversation.
Lastly, I met with Dr. Duffy who was the doctor to perform my surgery. He made me feel like I was in excellent hands and even explained his background which helped me feel even more at ease. He was super friendly in answering all of my questions and I went into surgery not feeling nervous at all because of all the support of the Doctor and the staff.
I highly recommend.
My oldest son broke his arm at high school football practice. When we arrived, the ER team (nurses Kate and Jennifer and Dr. Baker) had already spoken to the team doctor and were ready for him. He was taken to a room, x-rayed, had an IV, and pain meds almost instantly. They were all so calm and were able to keep him calm as well. My son had to be sedated with Ketamine and the bones reset, which is scary as a mom, but it went very well and he didn’t feel a thing and doesn’t remember that part at all. After talking to the coaches, trainers, and the team doc, we were totally expecting to be planning surgery to pin the bones. However, at our follow up, the bones were set so well in the ER that he likely won’t need surgery at all and will have a much faster recovery.
Since the injury was at school, the insurance was confusing. I spoke with Ms. Hurst in billing and she had me email the info to her personally, and was able to help me get the forms attached to his chart and explained how the process would work.
For such an unexpected, awful injury, the whole experience was easy. I’m so thankful we chose Methodist!
Update: 11/24 He avoided surgery, healed quickly, and was back on the football field after just 6 weeks and is playing in a brace!
I've had three procedures here over the last 18 months and the staff and Doctors were fantastic. Always a wonderful experience! My new hip is working great on the tennis court!
