“From a teacher's point of view, this is a great school! I figure it is OK to post as a teacher if I disclose that, because some may use these reviews to inform themselves about whether or not to seek employment here. The principal is involved, supportive, and knows so many of the students by name. He is my favorite out of the 4 I have worked under. There is a negative review on here about drugs groups and that he teachers should do something about them, but I can tell you we do all we can. Every provable case at school events or on school grounds results in officers being involved, the student(s) being removed from campus for an extended period of time, and ineligibility from activities. We random drug test any student with a parking permit or involved in any activity and we have K9 sweeps of the parking lot. We do our best and I am not sure what else she wants us to do. The school works hard to make sure there are a variety of clubs and activities for the kids to get involved in because they believe involved kids are less likely to feel disconnected and get involved in negative habits/groups. There is an anime club, a rock music club, video game club, fishing club, archery club, etc. The idea is to get something for everyone. There are several service oriented clubs and I love seeing the students develop more skill/attention to giving time and organizing charitable efforts. I see Wylie East as a school for of people who care about others helping teacher kids and encouraging them to care about others as well. It is a great place to work and I am happy to have my own children coming through this school.”

“My daughter has been taking ukulele lessons here for close to 6 months and she absolutely loves it! Her instructor is so patient and encouraging. He consistently introduces new techniques and helps her grow her skills without overwhelming her. He definitely makes it fun. There is a recital in November, and we are looking forward watching my daughter perform. The office team is fantastic to work with as well. They are very organized and responsive if you have questions or need to make a schedule adjustment.”

“My son started this daycare in March of 2022. The staff is amazing! My little guy is happy. They kept them very busy during the summer with field trips and swimming. Also, my son has ADHD, and they don’t treat him differently like the other child care centers in the area. So thankful we found this place.”

They had never been in daycare of any kind and had a really hard time the first couple weeks. During that time the staff at liberty helped us in every possible way. They took the time to reassure us and were so patient and focused on helping my girls adjust. Now they love school! They have learned so much already and I feel 100% comfortable when they are at liberty!”

One way I knew that their teachers had really made a difference was when all 3 of my children selected a Hartman teacher to present their high school ring to them. “I love a daycare that is about improving. We have had many good teachers that communicate well and love our children. When you walk into the school, multiple teachers are greeting your child by name. Throughout most of the year, we are there at 6:30 and I can depend on them to be open. The new communication and sign out systems are efficient and to the point. Like most schools, the teachers and director cannot email or get back right that second, but they try to communicate quickly.”

“Dr. Barnett and his staff IMMEDIATELY eased my trouble mind as I recently dealt with a serious health scare. Not only were they quick to get me in, everyone in his practice I dealt with treated me with the utmost respect and gave me such compassionate and understanding care. I had a zillion questions and Dr. Barnett took the time to answer every one of them, never making me feel rushed or troublesome. Instead, I felt as if I was the most important patient he had. Hence, I immediately felt a high level of trust with him. When he had to deliver some not-so-good news about my MRI just prior to my surgery, he sensed my fear, which I had no way of hiding, then placed a gentle hand on my shoulder and asked if he could pray with me. I teach at a private Catholic high school, and believe I am a woman of great faith, so this simple gesture was further proof to me that this intelligent, highly-educated man was sent to me as my healer. Dr. Barnett also referred me to two other incredible doctors that are equally as instrumental in my care. I think there is much to be said about a doctor and the “company” they keep. I now find myself on a quick road to recovery. These referrals, and their staffs, are just as awesome as he is! So, I know I am being taken care of by the best in their respective fields. But, it all began with Dr. Barnett. I know I will refer him to everyone I know who needs a great podiatrist. He and his staff are the epitome of what you expect from medical professionals. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for me!”

“The teachers and administrators with whom we had contact were focused on providing top notch education in a healthy and safe environment. Working within the given parameters of budget and time, the teachers here were especially generous with their time to help students master difficult materials. Any problems with the school stemmed primarily from the state mandated focus on passing standardized tests. It seems an absurd amount of education time is spent preparing for, and taking tests. That said, the school has an amazing orchestra and band program, reaching a large percentage of the student body with an opportunity to learn music. As well, there is a flourishing theatre program, and lots of clubs for things like robotics and science and advanced academics.”

“It's a beautiful school with a large welcoming entry as you walk through the front doors of the school. I had the privledge of attending a morning assemble there for the student's of Smith Elementary. The students joined with teacher and parents were full of energy during an award ceremony recognizing students from different grades and classes for various accomplishments. “This school is great !!!! I mean the food isn’t like gourmet or anything but it’s not so terrible that you can’t stand to eat it. I personally can tell that the teachers try very hard to make their students have success in the classroom. It does get challenging and I don’t like all the science projects but I do learn a lot. I don’t like the strict dress code but it’s not as terrible as everyone saying. I do wish we had free dress though. Most of the kids that are saying all these bad things about school usually have had some involvement in their bad experiences in the classroom. Like they don’t have respect for teachers. Which causes them to get in trouble more and have these opinions about the school. I personally really enjoy going to school here. They have ice cream and they have a really cool athletics program and some pretty fun activities. Some activities are not fun and boring but you could tell that the teachers were trying. Overall I think who ever gets to go to the school is very privileged and lucky to have such great teachers,athletic programs, elective programs, and the educational programs to help all types of children.”
