I have not attended. However, the open their doors for early voting and voting on the day of election. That's honoring the country for Jesus.
Amazing
St Frances by the Lake is our 5 Star
Fr. David is warm and friendly. He says every week with a big smile, "If you're new here, welcome. If you've been here before, welcome home," and means that will all his heart. He is very well-read, so his sermons have a lot of great history! Great choir and organist. Rite I and Rite II, Sunday school, and wonderful holiday services (Easter, Christmas, etc.) The congregation is very friendly. If you're looking for a church home, volunteering and going to potlucks are the best way to make friends! Even if you haven't been in years, people will still remember you and be excited to see you. A lot of love here.
This is a fine example of a church who puts action to Christ's words.
My wife Nan and I arrived late May 2016 into the Canyon Lake community in order to housesit for some friends for three months. It was our first time to Texas. Without knowing anyone in the immediate area we decided to visit St. Francis by-the-Lake because of the one on-line review written four years ago.
We were greeted at the door with a sincere, loving welcome and then immediately introduced to several other people...even before we could find a seat. Furthermore, Fr. David Chalk welcomed us from the front during the service, then several people followed up over coffee just in case we missed their enthusiasm.
Being Trinity Sunday, Fr. David reminded us from the pulpit that God's love is for all as evidenced by the work of Jesus and His sacrifice. There were no barriers. His message was not just 'head', but shown forth in action by the warmth, friendship and connection to us over the 10 weeks we were incorporated into the body that is St. Francis.
In that time, the summer choir allowed Nan to join and sing while the Bible Study group let me come in with them. Fr. David is a born teacher and most caring in pastoral work. His wife Julie is not only a skilled musician but opens her home generously.
We would recommend to anyone wanting to find a caring community, a new body of friends and a spiritually alive environment to drop in. Taste and see. And it is my hope this review will do for you what the earlier one did for us. Dean and Nan Lewis
