(October 28, 2017, 8:15 pm)Small overlook area on Lake Joe Pool, accessible from FM 1382. A traditional feature of many local Corps of Engineers lakes, the Overlook is a combination scenic viewing area, picnic area, and restroom near the Project Office. Nicely wooded area with expansive views of the lake and trails down to the water. Offers access to the eastern end of the dam, which is topped by a two-lane state road--closed to traffic but open to walking and bicycles.
