(June 27, 2019, 7:33 pm)Maggie’s house is my ‘heaven on earth’ home. The staff and volunteers are my sisters. Here, I received grace, hope, comfort, and purpose for my new life in recovery. My words are so limited to describe what Maggie’s did for me. Maggie’s house held the power to hammer open a door in my broken and despairing heart. I respect and trust this place with my life.
(June 27, 2019, 12:37 am)I didn’t stay at Maggie’s but I did a lot of service work and attended many meetings here when I first started my program of recovery. The staff is excellent, there are many ways to volunteer every single day (service work is super important in recovery!), and the meetings are incredible (and plentiful as there are several each day). The Sunday speaker meetings at 11 are awesome. The house receives food donated from Trader Joe’s that day for the women who attended the meeting to go through after.
(June 26, 2019, 7:22 pm)Saved my life. I had been in recovery centers before where you had "therapy, group therapy, and art therapy. Made a beautiful ashtray once. Yeah, that kept me sober. NOT. Never opened a BB. Maggies runs straight out of the book. Guess what? It works! I've been sober now for 6 years. They also help you find a recovery house when you get out if you need. Alumni are a very important part of the program as well. They visit often. I need to get back up there soon. They will even help you find a job in some cases. I had the opportunity to work there for about a year. What do I think of Maggie's? It's my home away from home.
(June 24, 2019, 6:04 pm)I have seen firsthand how Maggie’s House supports women in recovery. It is free to women and they personally invest in their resident’s recovery. Maggie’s is an incredible place, and has such a special place in my family’s heart!
(May 28, 2019, 4:25 pm)This place changed my life. I'll be sober 2 years in July. I drank for over 40 years. Any woman is welcome and it really is free. Whether you stay in the residence or can come to the daily meetings, you will find hope and tools for a life free from alcohol.
