Freckle’s Chicken

Went to check out Freckles Chicken and it was delicious! Hubby and I have been looking for a non-franchised chicken spot and this hidden gem hit all the spots!
Customer service was great, Chef Brandon and Mz. Terri were very friendly and welcoming. You can dine in or take out. They are located I side the Whip in Go gas station on I30 and Barnes Bridge (next to Jack in the Box).
Even though they are inside the gas station, they are very clean and sanitized. When we pulled up we can see that they were spraying and wiping down surfaces and tables and even after we ate and left we can see them sanitizing everything right away.
They are made to order, which is awesome because you get fresh cooked hot food. The wings were perfectly cooked, seasoned, and juicy. You can definitely tell the fries are not frozen and cut from potatoes. Hubby enjoyed the okra that was crunchy and not slimy like some places and the fried corn was great. It was not oily or greasy and the batter surpringly stayed on the corn, it was juicy as well and the fry did not take away from the sweet taste of the corn.
We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back for more! Show them some love and support and go try them for yourself!

The food is delicious! Made when you order it and comes out piping hot! The chicken is juicy and moist, covered with a special seasoning for a slight kick. The chicken and okra both were cooked just right and not overly crusty and crunchy. I was extremely impressed and I am looking forward to going back and trying the hot wings and catfish. Brandon and his team are doing some special food here y'all. You WILL NOT be disappointed. RECOMMEND

Freckles is the bomb! The chicken was soo good! Fries , mac and cheese and the greens omg!! I highly recommend hitting this place up! You will not be disappointed!!

I had the 1 piece fried fish and the greens. Those were the best greens I've ever eaten at an eatery. Unbelievable because this food appeared to be made with love. Can't say enough about the young lady that made the recommendations. She was so pleasant. Yes I will be a returning customer! And it is located in a Whip in gas station!

Best catfish I’ve ever had!! My husband and I are going to go back every week! Also, try the livers and gizzards, they are way better than Williams Chicken! The chef is wonderful and staff very friendly.
