“Love this school! Attended grades 1st - 5th. Definitely historical, maybe even a little haunted. The 2nd grade hall has always been the main building seen as you pass the school on Socorro rd. This hall is the oldest building on the school. It used to be a convent for the Sisters of Loretto. After they moved to El Paso, the building was since been used as a school. The floor is still of the original wood flooring that creaks with every footstep. Apparently the storage room leading under the stage in the gym in that hall is actually an underground tunnel that leads underneath the stage in the San Elceario Presidio Hall. The stage in the hall has been lowered so I assume the tunnel has been blocked off as well.”

“My daughter started Pre-Kinder and is now finishing 4th grade. I am so sad to say that we are moving out of the district and she will not finish her 5th grade there. However, I have loved all of her teachers, very hard working and caring. Great parental involvement. She is in the bilinguaql program and her Spanish has improved greatly. I was worried about her TAKS scores, thinking the dual language would confuse her. However, she has been commended for 2 out of the 3 topics. There is something that I did not appreciate, which is the science fair. It is held the last few weeks of school which feels like it is in the back burner (since TAKS is the priority). They give them only a couple of weeks notice, which means they have to rush the research process. My child won district in first grade and when she went to compete, it was a disaster since it was not properly coordinated. Although she has won a few times again since, I have not let her attend because it has not changed much. Other than that, it is an amazing school. Highly recomend and encourage parents to send their child there!”

“My daughter been here for five years! This school is awesome! The teachers really care about the kids education! They communicate well! At less from my experience and as I spoke to other parents there! We are all working together to help the teachers teach our kids! And communications is key! They even came out with a new app for parents teachers and students to communicate to say what's going on in class and what's the home work for that week! How the student is doing if they are improving or getting worst, I am pleased with the educational part of Tom Lea! My take away is lack of supervision on the playgrounds and in the cafeteria! Too much horse playing! And the food in the cafeteria is not worth eating said my kid! And other students I had the pleasure of speaking too! Kids love pizza and it's way too hard and dry! Kids should eat the foods and not thow it out! Moms and dads work way too hard! And they are paying for their child to eat not throw it in the trash. Kids will eat if you gave them yummy foods kids like to eat! Please change your menus going forward!”

“We love Radford! Top notch education combined with many extracurricular activities keep my kids involved and interested. This is a small yet welcoming community where many parents participate and volunteer. The principal greets everyone by name--kids and parents alike--and often serves as the crossguard. Because of its size, students can be in sports, band, theater and clubs all at once. Lunch time is like no other - it is a dining experience. Many teachers have Masters in Ed. and many, many years of experience. Grades are Pre-K thru 12, including a program for 3-year olds.”
