“Without doubt the most fun I've ever had in a retail environment is this cute but complete hardware store in tiny Leonard, Texas. Hear me out. A hardware store with two cats running around for fun? Check. A stuffed coyote dangling from the ceiling whose headgear changes with the seasons? Got it. Aisle signs that let you know where the "Household Whatch-ma-call-its" and "Electrical Doo-Hickies" are? Right this way. A sign on the men's bathroom door when I visited apologetically stated "Sorry, we ran out of toilet paper", and was taped to a pack of sandpaper. Make no mistake - the people in this store have wicked senses of humor and arent afraid to use them. Humorous signs litter the various store sections. And yet these same jokesters simultaneously offer some of the best service you'll ever come across. People coming through the door are immediately asked if they need any help, and with the staff including former general contractors, they know what they're talking about. Not only that, but for a small store, they have an incredibly complete inventory, and if the prices arent as low as Lowe's or Home Depot, they're damned close. Crossroads Hardware is a model example of how a retail store can and should be run. On a scale of 1 to 10 it deserves a 12.”

My rear driveshaft broke off while I was on highway 121 (an hour and 30 minutes away from my home in Dallas) and they made me a priority the second I walked in and even offered to give me a ride into town. Jeff and his daughter were both very friendly and took care of me better than any auto shop has before. They gave me a great price and got my vehicle fixed a day earlier than anticipated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND”

“Small park, but definitely enough activities to keep you busy for a day. Clean trails, camping, hiking, biking, fishing, canoe, kayak, and pedal boat rentals. Nice big restrooms with nice shower stalls. Nice kids play area, sand volleyball court, and covered picnic area. We had a lot of fun doing the photo Scavenger hunt and really enjoyed chatting with some of the rangers.”

“Excellent place to grab an authentic Mexican meal. No watered down Tex-Mex here, just good home-style Mexican food with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere. Prices are good and they have specials for each day of the week (Taco Tuesday anyone??) Highly recommended! One of the best, hidden little hole-in-the-wall places in North Texas. ** Ask for their Birria Tacos, they're not on the menu, and you won't regret it !!”

“This place is really great, they've worked really hard to keep a park like natural setting: very shaded with a lot of trees and surprisingly quiet given the nearby highway. The owner is very responsive and seems genuinely interested in making it a great natural park to stay in. Full hookups and 50a in every spot! Bonham is about ten minutes away and McKinney is about 25 minutes away.”
