Very clean restaurant. The service was great much better than Landry's. The food tasted good and they even had items on the lunch menu for under $10. That was impressive considering you are getting a great view of the water.
First time too Galveston, Texas. First time to Flying Dutchman. Late arrival at 8:30pm. Allowed us any table.
Ordered dozen raw oysters. Both husband and I enjoyed eating them. He also had cup of gumbo which he liked.
I ordered clam chowder... thinking when waiter said it is bit yellowish in response to my order of "white" chowder, it was "Boston" chowder. Not. Oh well...both soups as in many restaurants are "salty". I added husband's white rice to dilute the saltiness and took it home. Once hungrier, it will taste "better". Haha...
We had just finished a 12 hour fishing trip on the Galveston Party Boat and we were hungry and tired! The food was great and our waiter was even greater!!!! He knew he needed to get us fed and on our way home! He did a fantastic job!!
I didn't expect a seafood restaurant to make one of the the best burgers I've ever had.But it was very good. The deck was really nice and had a great view. I will definitely be back.
