“My whole life I've been pushed aside because I was the " new girl". And an odd duck at that. Moving to Clear Lake was EXCITING!! I've been dreaming of high school since fifth grade. I thought that if I was in high school people would finally hear what I've been screaming all along. Clear lake high however... let's just say I started the year as my best self! Hyper! Goofy! Fun! But slowly I saw myself changing, constantly being taunted and mocked for who I was. It got to the point where no matter where I went everyone laughed and glared. My brother ( a senior) became my best friend because he was in the same boat. Then he went missing and It was petrifying not only was I insanely worried about him, but everyone blamed me and harassed me about it. I tried to stay positive when we found him.. but everyone had their minds made up about me. View saved me. I thought high school was meant to be miserable. I lost hope. When I started at view everyone smiled, they held the door open for each other and not once gave each other dirty looks. They helped each other find their way. ( I got offered help by like 6 people in each class!!!) it's amazing here. And now I know where I belong. I am back to who I was, wearing crazy knee socks and giant bows without judgement. I love this school, because they reminded me to love myself.”
