Purgatory Creek Natural Area

Always a great hike no matter what the weather is. Bring your walking stick and plenty of water.

The hike was 10/10 not too hard but also not a walk in the park. i wish there was more water around for better scenery but other than that it’s a beautiful trail to walk with your family for some exercise.

Beautiful park with great trails. Trail markers and maps are kinda confusing.

I started coming here when my family was getting stir crazy during Covid lockdown a couple of years ago. There are miles and miles of trails, most of them very clearly marked and easy to navigate. A few stretches are pretty rocky, so I prefer hiking boots to trail running shoes, just for the ankle support. The majority of the hike around this place is shaded, but be sure and take water if you plan to tackle the whole thing in the warmer months.

Great park to walk around, good vantage point on the dam to watch the sunset. Only downside is the trail width in some areas (more for biking but doesn't allow room for pedestrians as well)
