Impressed doesn’t seem adequate when describing Burleson High School. We recently moved to Texas and specifically Burleson a few months back. Looking for high schools in a new town is a challenge in and of itself, doing it from out of state is stressful. However the staff and teachers have been amazing!! Mrs. Janek specifically has gone out of her way to help us, answer any questions we throw at her, if she doesn’t have an answer she will find someone who does. The curriculum at BHS is phenomenal and I’m amazed at the choices of electives the students have to choose from and the paths they can take. I’m particularly impressed with the counseling staff planning for next year already, getting plans in place and making sure the students have a voice in their high school career. The band class my son is in? Let’s put it this way, he LOVES it. Marching band? Son is coming out of his shell and has made some great friends already!! There will always be bumps in the road when it comes to school, but BHS and the staff have shown our family what a great choice we made when sending our son there!!
This school is actually great compared to fort worth school districts. The only thing that needs to be looked at is the popularity contest going on between students and teachers. Certain teachers favoring students who are more attractive then degrading the other children the ones who are actually struggling. This school is made up of a lot of materialistic teens and the teachers are right there along with them.
