This was delicious and after reading the other reviews I was a little surprised that it was as good as it was. Super friendly people, good value, and atmosphere is basic with a bit of country, but other than that it was wonderful. It’s a perfect place to meet people, you can purchase your food, and then sit down with a group if you like on picnic benches. Im already ready to go again!
Traveled from Medical Center area in search of BBQ on a 1230pm/Thur. This one beat 2M BBQ hands down. Good, moist sliced beef, jalapeno sausage with a slight after kick. BBQ sauce okay, slight sweet, ketchup taste that's better than most. Creamy Corn & Sweet Coleslaw-Good!. Allthis for $22 bucks, great price. Short 30 min drive for us today, we will be back again! Give them a try 😉
Well, first off, the one-pound baked potatoes are a must-have. These have so much flavor, and I only got the bacon, cheese, chive and sour cream option. You can also add meat, making it a meal. I really can't say enough about how good these potatoes are. Second, the brisket is better than other places I've had it. Just falls apart. Neither items I've tried need extra sauce, etc. These stand alone. Before I knew it, my plate was wiped clean. You must visit Fritze's. Worth any drive.
This is a true local Texas affair. The hitching post out front will tell you this is old school and amazing. The loaded baked potatoes with chopped beef will change your life. I would go just for one of those. If you are visiting, it does take some time to get here, but it's worth it. Everyone is extremely friendly and will give suggestions if asked. I didn't try the sides, but those with me left with empty plates. Even the little ones in my party enjoyed the food and decor.
Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. It is modest in size with indoor and outdoor seating, plus a drive-thru window for convenience....parking is available at their lot. We ordered their one meat and two meat plates with two sides per plate. I had the brisket and pork spare ribs, my wife had the pork spare ribs. My sides were cucumber salad and Dill coleslaw, hers were barbecue beans and cucumber salad. We really enjoyed the food! The ribs were meaty and smokey, my brisket was tender and juicy, and their barbecue sauce had a vinegary tang to it. Exceptional were the sides of cucumber salad (in particular), as well as the beans and Dill slaw. Also exceptional was the excellent value as our two meals and two soft drinks came out to less than $27. Yummy desserts are available, with fruit cobblers and brownies and cookies made in house.
Stop by and enjoy some tasty local BBQ , we are glad we did.
