Owner response to Lauren Wood: Lauren I am so sorry you had an unfavorable experience at our funeral home in Willis. I wish I had known at the time and I promise I would have tried to comfort you. One thing I want you to know is that we do infant funerals for free. We don't try to make a penny off of such a tragic loss. It is the least we can do to serve your young family and our community at such a horrible time in your life. If we gave the impression that all we cared about was trying to do it the cheapest way possible, I am truly sorry and ask for your forgiveness.

Considerate and Caring are the two words I find most appropriate for Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. The staff cares about providing the service and burial that families want for their loved one. They have helped us lay to rest two parents, my mother in 2011 on the hottest weekend in Texas history, 107 on a Saturday, 108 on Sunday for visitation. We had originally planned a graveside service but with the staggering heat, they accommodated us by burying her at 9:00 a.m. in the morning. And then we had a short memorial service in a small church nearby.

We buried my father this past weekend, and Heather Caldwell was the director. She had great skills in all areas of preparation for Dad's homegoing service and the service was dignified. Since we had chosen Dad's casket years ago for his pre-planning, Heather couldn't find one that was eye-appealing so she upgraded at no further costs to us.

My husband and I have our preplans with this funeral home because we have found the Smiths and their staff are honest and provide compassionate care when families need comfort the most.

Heather was always so kind to my mother and i when planning my Dads funeral. She went above what we thought or needed. She helped with the military arrangements. Heather helped us give the type of service that my dad would have been proud to have had. Thank you again Ms. Heather.

Director; Will Smith & everyone at this Funeral Home was amazing. Will went above & beyond in every aspect of my Dear Mother's Services. I will forever be thankful for all he did. He was thorough, efficient & most importantly compassionate. Funeral Director is most definitely his calling. Thank you all @ Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home / Montgomery for all that you did for our Family. We truly appreciate it. God Bless.
