JW's Place

Jw's place is a great family soul food place to enjoy. I have been there twice and my favorite is the shrimp and grits. The best I have had at a restaurant. The atmosphere was great. The owner and staff were very welcoming. The prices are ok. For a family of 4 we spent $100.

I haven't had the privilege to dine here as of yet. However, the lady that was there was very courteous. She was very enthusiastic when greeting us. I can't wait to patronize this business.

The samples served for Taste of the Town did a great job of showing off their best dishes. The oxtail and cheesy grits were especially good. We’ll be back, no doubt!

It’s official … JW’s is our favorite BBQ in Texas! If you like dark bark and abundant smoke in your BBQ, don’t waste your time anywhere else. We first tried the brisket a couple weeks ago and were blown away with the peppercorn bark and tender slices, but being native Texas BBQ snobs, we tried the pulled pork and ribs tonight to see if everything was at the same level.

Holy weapons of mass destruction! We (kids, wife and I) plowed through +pound of pulled pork, slab of ribs and wanted more. Pulled pork was absolutely amazing and the best damn pork ribs we’ve had in years (says the beef rib fans).

This is a rare gem! A fantastic family run restaurant that will have you believing you are sitting at your granny's table eating food straight from the garden , the farm animals and catfish pond. These establishments need to be recognized for upholding true blue southern cuisine. The fried chicken was juicy but not greasy. The catfish perfectly seasoned and breaded. Those collard greens... flavorful with a smokey taste.

I don't know why it's not busier but it just gained one regular family today!
