Best service in the game! I used to run GPI just because someone recommended it but felt like I hit a wall when it came to building power. 21psi of boost and still at 1600hp, I felt like I was stuck and couldn't get any further without a lot of wear on my other components. I ran into a guy at the track one day doing testing and he had an identical setup as me but ran Frankenstein heads and oddly had heard of Frankenstein from someone at GPI because they used to use Frankenstein heads before going into business with GPI. Anyhow, I switched and on just 10 psi, I'm running 1600HP! No hassle, very knowledgeable, good people that have a passion for racing and not just random people selling parts.....not to mention it makes it much better when they sell for the love of racing because they don't make commission there. All around fantastic product and even better service! I saw a question about in-stock issues but was easily explained that every item is built to order because of upgraded valve options, seats, springs....no head is the same so the stock means ready to customize but there was still a quick turnaround of 6 weeks when everyone else in the industry was 12-14 weeks when i shopped around!
Where to begin. Well I guess from beginning, I reached out to their team via email asking about getting a set of heads redone. They responded quickly and answered all my stupid questions. When time came to drop off the heads I was greeted by the staff. I had the pleasure of sitting with the production manger who took the time to chat with me about my build and goals for the project. He made me feel just as important as the guy who had them build a 4000hp all billet aluminum engine for. Now fast forward a few weeks to the day I picked up my heads. They were in one of the coolest boxes I’ve ever seen. Packaging and care of these heads were top notch. When I opens the box I was in complete awww. The attention to detail was out this world. The pictures don’t do them justice. The polish and engraving alone took a set of stock castings to the next level. If you are looking for a freakishly awesome company to do your machine work call Frankenstein Engine Dynamics. One last thing price point, they are right in line with those other folks, but I can guarantee they aren’t doing what FED does. See pics below.
I don't normally write many reviews, but when I have an experience this good, I have to. FED is outstanding. I had the stage 1 porting service done on a set of 243 heads that were going on my Ls1. Everything about working with them was wonderful. The communication before sending them out. The timeline for when they'd be finished (I received them back faster than when they said it would be). The opening of the box to reveal the incredible attention to detail these heads were given. I can't say anymore nice things otherwise it's going to sound like a fake review. 😉 Seriously, if you need any of the services they provide, don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.
The guys at FED are top notch, called them with what I was looking for and they helped spec me the perfect set of heads. All the guys there are super knowledgeable and easy to work with. Highly recommend them for anyone looking to take their build to the next level! Thanks again guys!
