Shannon Elementary School

Hi, I'm Arianna Canfield. I am currently a 6th grade student at Sharon Shannon Elm. I love this school so much, and I have gone here for about 8 years now!! I recommend this school to your young children. We have AMAZING teachers here, and we also have the Leader In ME project!! What is that you ask? Well, the leader in me project teaches students to be a leader! We have had this project for about 4 years now and it is great! We recently earned our lighthouse status, too! I am so proud of my school because i am a part of the lighthouse council!! The lighthouse council is a group of kids and a couple of faculty members that include Ms. Lee and Ms.Stevens. They are awesome leaders of the lighthouse council!We-the lighthouse council and I- make big decisions for our school.
Now let me tell you a little about our history! Our school Sharon Shannon is named after the famous Sharon Shannon who worked in the Rockwall ISD district for a very long time. She is known as the MASTER TEACHER because of her ability make students WANT to learn, and do good! Most of the students who were taught by her went off to college and got a degree! Sharon Shannon was established in 2007 and is still standing tall!
I love my school so much that I now HATE summer! The waiting and waiting seems like years, but i am so excited to be going back soon! I am going to be VERY sad when I leave my school. I will never forget my times there where I met the best people in my life-my best friends! I have grown to love my best friends so much! I had a group of my bffae-best friends forever and ever- in forth grade, but the girl in our group i didn't like the most...well she ended up to be my bffae in fifth grade and still now! I love her so much and we hang out at school and do EVERYTHING together at school!

My favorite year was fifth grade because of my BOSS teachers and friends! There was Ashley burns, Zach Hartmeier, Amber Minter, and Nichole Barret. They were THE.BEST.TEACHERS.EVER! And you know my bffae i told you about, yeah we made a group with a couple of my other bffae's called THE S'MORES!!!! Us four do EVERYTHING TOGETHER! We laugh, we cry....Because of how funny we all were! I have NEVER laughed so much in my whole life, that's why I am REALLY scared for the new year as well!
What i'm trying to say is... Sharon Shannon will be the best part of your life. You will build UNFORGETTABLE relationships, laugh until you cry, and Be the best you can possibly be! You will meet teachers that you will NEVER FORGET. Our faculty is strong, and very helpful! When you get their a student will even give you a tour of the school! You will never not have fun or laugh till...well you cry!
Now for a little bit more of my experience at Shannon! Since I have been at Shannon I have grown extensively in Social Studies!! Of course I have grown a GREAT amount in the other subjects but, I have grasped Social Studies the best! I can sit here and tell you hours and hours of facts about The U.S making, The wars we had, and the important history of our battles!! O! I almost forgot, K-STR! K-STR is our morning news. K-STR fills you in on the news feed of the day such as, the lunch menus, the weather, and even the daily birthdays, but you can only be on K-STR in 6th grade. :(, but when you are in 5th grade towards the end of the school year you can sign up to do K-STR in 6th grade, and on the last week of school you go live! You're assigned a certain day that you go live!
So to wrap up this heart-filled review on Sharon Shannon Elm. I hope you have finally decided to enroll your child by the end of this!
