Great trail. There are four trails great for daily hikers, three short loop and a long 5-mile one way (I think). Beautiful scenery along the well marked routes.
Love the well kept trails of this state park. Plenty to do and see
I enjoy the friends I meet and the variety of walking trails available. Fairly well maintained and not the big crowds you sometimes get on some of the other trails.
Beautiful outdoors location for hiking. The terrain is moderately varied, but you will not experience challenging hills. There are creeks and washouts throughout, however. I saw a few snakes along the path, but none were venomous and did their best to scurry away. Still, if you see a snake, give it its space; you are in its house, not the other way around. Reaching Double Lake from the south side of the trail gives you a nice opportunity to use the bathroom facilities there, top off on water, and even take a dip in the lake.
Out of all the trails I've hiked so far, I really enjoyed this one. Paths were wide and all marked either by marker or sign. There are multiple places where tail splits but they are marked by a sign which lets you know which was to go and come back. I went with my dog and kids (4-8), they really enjoyed this trail. Especially all the different bridges we encountered.
