This place is chill. They are starting to remodel and that’s cool because we get to have beautiful, new rooms to stay in. I certainly hope this generation of entitled people will treat them nicely. The rooms are bare bones and that’s perfect for me. I don’t need to pay the extra 20-30$ for a coffee maker I’ll never use and a blow dryer that will collect dust.
The front desk ladies are awesome!! Well, the younger ones are. They are funny and engaging. They are helpful and seem to actually remember who you are and genuinely care about your return business. Honestly though, and I don’t mean to be snarky, but the two older ladies should think about retiring. The older overnight lady is flat out rude, she takes forever to do her job, if she does it at all. (I’ve had to wake her up once, so it’s probably not the first time). The other older lady (who works the day shift since the place opened in 1972) is getting just as bad. Every time I walk in the lobby she’s sitting down in the chair and it seems to me that she might be happier doing something where she doesn’t have to bothered to stand up.
I wish they had the pool open, but I probably wouldn’t swim anyway if I’m being honest, because I don’t swim in any public pools. I just like hanging on the patio in the sun.
It’s really convenient that they accept dogs and terribly inconvenient that the guests don’t pick up after their own animals. The dog poop is gross. I completely understand this is not the motel’s fault and it is solely the lazy dog owners lack of respect.
I stay here when I’m driving through because it’s located right off the highway and it’s surrounded by a plethora of places to eat. Although, Council Bluffs in general isn’t a tourist destination, the places to see are all really close.
I will continue to stay here and look forward to the new look of the rooms! And, maybe fresh faces at the desk?
Me my wife have stayed there a few times. The first night the staff were very unprofessional rude and not helpful. The rooms were dirty gum stuck to the head board. When staff was notified they said housekeeping was not available. The lady at the front desk said make a review. The following morning my wife made one we checked out and that was that. Few weeks later the four of us went back because it was the cheapest in town. My wife tries to check the four of us in. They said she was ban do to the review she put in. The other lady we were with checks us all in. And it was the same unprofessional staff attitude not trying to help nothing. Get to the room and its another dirty one the bed was broken not good at all. We were supposed to stay two nights. Again tried the front desk nothing. Next morning we talk to the manger unhelpful. So the lady with us called the main office though we got it all taken care of. We get a call from the manager telling us we had to leave because we were all ban. She tried to keep our money it was a big headache.
The great part about motel 6 is their pet policy. This motel 6 is rather noisy on the 3rd floor people will be up at all hours not caring about the noise they make. They do have good staff and clean rooms and if you get a double room you get a refrigerator and a microwave.
Everything was almost perfect! But our last night there as our 15 yr old son slept he was bit on the top of his hand by a spider. We know it was a brown recluse because the pediatrician we took him to told us. I know spiders and other insects can get in side. Called the hotel and informed them so no one else gets bitten.
