“Every change we experience in our lives will always start in the mind. I believe this is just part of the human condition. For most of my life, my mind has been my own worst enemy. I have had great difficulty with self love and have relied on negative reinforcement for as long as I can remember. This pattern of behavior left me sad, angry, unsatisfied, and seemingly incapable of living the life I wanted for myself. I felt trapped/pent-up, and never wanted to give myself permission to let my true self out. As a 31-year-old man, I have been in therapy with more therapists than I can count on 2 hands throughout the course of my life. Very few of them were able to help me make significant life changes, and even fewer since I left college and moved out on my own. For me, the traditional style of talk therapy is just not conducive to affecting real, lasting change. I needed something that would impact me in a deeper way, other than sitting and talking with someone about my past traumas. Then there was David, and he was a breath of fresh air. David has helped me to accomplish this by reminding me that it's not my fault and never has been, and I don't have to keep beating myself up and holding myself back. He has helped me to see my true value and worth, which is something I can say I have rarely if ever seen. Words can't express how truly remarkable he is at what he does, and how natural it all feels. His services are also incredibly reasonable - I wish I had started seeing him sooner.
