“Bluebonnet Montessori is a wonderful school and community of teachers / parents. We've had a student there from the age of 2.5 to 7 and are very satisfied with the academic abilities (especially in math and reading,) love of learning, ability to be independent, and completion of large projects. The school aligns with my views on treating children as individuals that can meet personal challenges. If the child is advancing they make the work more challenging rather than treating all the kids as the same and just expecting one level of progress from the entire group. Small class sizes and independent study allow kids to work in the directions that they are motivated for while the overall curriculum has an annual pattern to keep them well rounded and to bring newer kids up to speed while serving to refresh and reinforce the veteran kids. During the same class, kids at different ages and abilities become leaders that help each other. The younger ones are motivated to do the work the older ones can do and the older ones are helping the younger ones which reinforces the subject for themselves. Of note are the foreign language programs, music, art and various after school classes like yoga. There are several annual gatherings where the kids sing, play, and do small performances for the group of parents and siblings. It's a very special school and community to be part of. There is a healthy balance of learning, work, and socialization that lets kids be confident and smart. Would recommend it to anyone with children who are able to concentrate on tasks themselves. Those kids really take off at Bluebonnet because the pace of learning is largely self directed with teachers providing guidance, encouragement, and motivation.”

“Dr. Buss is great. She's confidential, flexible, and happy to talk through anything. She is a very warm person, and has made for a great first time counselor for me. She is very straightforward, and has helped me greatly in my relationships with my family and my SO.”

“Ordered the jumbo, pepperoni, sausage and jalapeños on a thin crust. It was great! The crust was made fresh, it was soft and chewy. The toppings are high quality and they are not stingy with it either. They put just the right amount of cheese and sauce. Gotta try their garlic knots, they are to die for. Always great customer service.”

“Melissa Solomon was my daughter's cello teacher for eight years until she moved from Los Angeles ,CA to Austin, TX. During that time I have observed my daughter's growth as a musician and cellist as well as many of Melissa's other students. Melissa is an exceptional cellist and a brilliantly talented teacher. She brings out the best in all her students of any level from beginning to advanced. She has helped her students, including my daughter, to win awards, scholarships and entrances into fine performing art schools and conservatories, and through music she has nurtured the growth and maturity of many young people. Melissa intuitively knows exactly what each student needs to progress technically as well as artistically, and she accomplishes this with such great joy and enthusiasm that it is positively contagious. Over the years I have also had the opportunity to observe other cello teachers at various workshops and summer programs, and I can attest that there are very few her equal. Any parent or student looking for a cello teacher will find the absolute best and so much more with Melissa Solomon.”

“@Mary Jane - It breaks my heart to read your post. I'm from the class of 2000 - the 1st class to go all the way through Connally from grade 9 to grade 12. So...my first day at Connally was EVERYONE'S first day at Connally because we were its first students...ever! :-) Actually, all 4 years that I attended CHS they were still building onto it. The staff, administration, teachers AND students all loved our new school (it was SO shiny and new)! We all took pride in it and babies it because we were all about "setting traditions." That is what we all tried to do...together! We knew that we were making decisions for generations to come so we thought really hard about them and took great pride in that. My years as a student at CHS were amazing...the best four years of my life! The teachers were awesome! Each grade level had its own principle and we all loved ours!!!! -Mr. Littlefield. During Saturday detentions he had the student out cleaning up campus. I just look back and wonder if there is anything we could have done different to better pass the torch. Is there some way we could have shown the incoming class what an awesome gift we were giving them...one the would have loved, been proud to be a part of and babied like we did. Of course there will always be students who don't share the enthusiasm and maybe even do things to sabotage the hard work of others. But they are a select few who are greatly outnumbered. I just know that feeling when that new car smell is gone and I hate that that is what our beautiful Connally High School smells like now. Such a shame that the leaders we had while I was there were not able to stay longer to rally you all like they did us. I understand, especially now that I'm an adult, that there are a lot more pressing matters in a teenagers life than a little graffiti here or there, or that they have better things...more fun things to do than try and make something that's seems so far gone like the school better and great again...especially when you all didn't get to see CHS in her glory days. Just know that a little elbow grease, some school spirit and a nice dose of Big Ol' Texas pride can make what is old new again. The luster, the color being a little brighter, the sense of unity that can become real between two separate groups when working towards the same goal, even the warm tinglies in your gut when you're when you start to make real progress...those things will come on their own. But only you...1 single human being can start a movement. So I hope you can believe that what seems impossible can easily be achieved...if you take a stand. Every movement begins with one person making the decision to act choosing to just talk. Will that person be you? I'll tell you what I know is absolutely certain no matter what: after this is real life...and it's NOTHING like what you see on TV. Making your mark among your peers, your community, your nation, your world...that all starts now...right where you are. So I say, why not set yourself apart now. Why not use the stars that twinkle in your young innocent eyes, your unjaded perseverance and hormone fueled confidence to do something great. Something for yourself, for your fellow student, for your baby brother when he gets there, for generations to come after you...maybe even a little for me ;-) You are about to venture out into unknown territory unsupervised and completely responsible for yourself and what you become. Set the tone. Set yourself up for success in life and maybe even surprise yourself a little when you see what your actually capable of...greatness. God bless and best wishes to you. I only want what was amazing to me to be amazing for you. Oh and BTW...your Mom IS right ;) Shannon M. Gunckel CHS Class of 2000 GO COUGARS!!!”

“So, were new in this school. but i already have the idea how's Montessori teaching is to the kids. i've read every comment and i do understand every parent concern and experiences. so far my son have started since AUG.3 he was supposed to start since april but due to covid and us moving in a diff area it made me push back. but so far things seems going very well with our son. i've never seen him happy and excited to get up in the morning at 7am for a 2 yr old. just to go to school. on top of that ive seen a lot of diff in him, even before i've started molding him to some kind of learning at home. he shows a lot of interest in learning, his a quick learner and very observant. on top of that we do follow up skills on him every after end of school week like weekend. to see if he remembers all the things he learn in school and he does. I dont know all the staff yet pretty well ive met some, but never got the chance to meet them personally and get to know them. hopefully that will come soon. but for the most part i like them. i know if something is not right about someone, my son can see and feel the same way. so far no signs of anything which is great! so im glad that his enjoying this school, and learning quick and hope it will stays that way. looking forward for all the adventures of my son in OWM. and im glad that they always sent me updates and pictures of his progress. in that way i feel ease that everything is ok.”

“Alex is an incredible teacher and a very talented musician! I came to him with a goal to get back to playing piano after a long gap. He not only helped to reestablish my skills but taught many new concepts in piano technique and composing. I started attending classes in person but had to switch to online. I was worried it wouldn’t keep me engaged but it turned out to be even more convenient and effective. Alex has a great technical system set up that allows to receive every piece of information from the screen same as it would be in person. And all that without spending time on commute. I also enjoy that all lessons are video recorded, so I can come back to any of them when I practice on my own. Honestly, I would choose 6 stars if I could!”
