My kids joined the summer program and I was impressed how many people were walking around to help keep kids safe and learning at the same time. There’s 1-2 instructors and anywhere from 4-5 student instructors walking around helping. I would highly recommend this Gym.
Since joining John’s Gym in 2019 I couldn’t be happier making the decision to walk in the doors. All the coaches are great at their respective profession, the teammates are welcoming and quickly become a family. And having the luxury of cross training at any of the 3 locations is a huge bonus. Couldn’t recommend John’s Gym more if you’re looking to get into martial arts.
John’s Gym is great and they have a fantastic kids program. They teach the fundamentals in a way that can be understood by young minds. They teach the kids to have good sportsmanship as well which is just as important. I’ve seen a growth in structure and confidence in my own child being a part of this gym, and I can’t wait to see him go further in this sport.
John’s gym is serious about completion but also allows you learn something without having to compete.
Classes cover a topic in depth and continue covering the same topic for many classes. This repetition helps me remember the new skills that I am taught.
We love John's Gym! We have 6 boys, all of which have trained in Jiu Jitsu, so we have tried a bunch of gyms over the years. John's is easily the best gym we've joined. It is family-oriented and the kids are surrounded by friends and feel like they are a part of something. The coaches are supportive, but at the same time, expect effort, focus, teamwork and respect from each one of the kids, and the kids absorb those values. Our youngest started when he was 6. He was very, very quiet and unassertive. He DID NOT want to go bjj, but after a few times, he made friends with the kids and the coaches because they made him feel at home. He is 7 now and loves going to train. He's much, much more confident, and actually likes getting out there and competing in tournaments as often as we can take him. It is a good change and we give a lot of that credit to John's Gym.
