Great place if you are into skiing and snowboarding. We were there only for a day. My son had a blast skiing all day. I took a beginner ski lesson. The instructor was super kind and patient with me and the entire group. The overall customer service was great, too. A good variety of places to eat at the ski lounge and the village. Shopping options at the village. Very cool and clean.
We stayed in the Long House Resort rooms as a romantic couple for Valentine's day.
It was really nice to be able to sleep in and then walk to the mountain right as they opened. We've tried dinners in the Stratton village but they're overpriced for the quality you get, and usually very packed with families even when going midweek.
Instead we enjoyed going into Manchester for dinner and had a multitude of delicious and romantic dinners during our stay. In the future we might consider staying in Manchester overnight for the savings.
That being said the quality of the rooms and service here were top notch. It was basically a little apartment with a fully functioning kitchen, fireplace, and nice bathroom. Super clean. And great service going well above and beyond, such as loading and running the dishwasher for us. Noticing that I didn't finish my coffee and bringing me a different brand for the next day without me asking. As well as fresh towels every night.
The TV was modern and worked well with live casting on our android phones.
Stratton was the first mountain that my wife and son took ski lessons at. While the resort was crowded, we had a wonderful experience none the less. The village area for shopping and restaurants after a day of skiing is great as well. This mountain overall is perfect for intermediate level skiers.
Quintessential Vermont skiing. Great terrain and layout. Perfect for families plenty of beginner and intermediate terrain. Definitely not the toughest terrain in the East but a great Southern VT spot. Right up there with Mt Snow.
Standard base lodge etc. mid mountain lodge had fun vibes and good chili.
