(March 1, 2020, 12:19 pm)My grandson’s first birthday was at Scramble! We loved it! Everything was awesome!!! The best part was the fact we had a wonderful ASSISTANT! Jocelyn! She was fabulous. She helped set up, cut a two tier Dr.Seuss Hat cake, clean up, and then LOAD up! She was awesome. We had children of various ages and fun for everyone!! Thank you, Jocelyn for helping make our Jon Michael’s first birthday over the top awesome!
(January 2, 2020, 12:03 pm)With few indoor play areas in the city, Scramble is a great option for D.C. families. Located in an industrial part of Alexandria, you can always find parking in the lot in the front and back (a huge win!).
For kids under three, it's only $8 and one adult can enter with each paying kid. Children ages three and older cost $12.
The space is large with a cafe, seating, a quiet zone for parents, a younger kid area, an older kid area, and a soccer area in the back. My toddler didn't rest for three hours and had a blast.
The only thing to watch out for is the cafe. There were a lot of people there and only three staff working the kitchen backlogging orders. We waited for an hour for a small pizza and had to cancel since we had to go.
(September 14, 2019, 4:07 pm)Such a wonderful place for children! There are several activity areas there that are good for young children of different ages. They have more education-focussed than most other indoor playgrounds. A whole bookstore as well as a made area that has themes from different countries/regions from around the world. They do a really good job of assisting with birthday parties that include separate birthday rooms. Or experience with the hosts was great. B they were organized, helpful and friendly. That makes it so easy for us!
(June 22, 2019, 9:00 pm)If a children's museum and a playground were fused together, you'd get Scramble. Instead of focusing on competition or challenges, the play space is all about exploration. It's a subtle thing, but it means that kids play together and stay happy together.
The establishment is clean, spacious, and well maintained. Staff courteous, gentle, and seemingly well prepared to keep things on the level. We had our daughter's fourth birthday here, and it was a blast. Even the parents enjoyed themselves, which for us is the gold standard of a kids birthday.
Final note, instead of a gift shop selling cheap plastic toys, this place has a wonderful bookstore with great kids books. That basically captures the energy of the place perfectly. Take your kids there, have a birthday party there, we suspect you won't be disappointed, we never are.

Please only park in this lot - Scramble has parking at the front, side, and Scramble is immediately adjacent to the Van Dorn Metro Station and Bus Terminus. Blue Line trains stop at Van Dorn frequently.
