Also known as Washington National Airport, this predominantly "internal flights" airport lands passengers within a stone's throw of Washington DC's city center and features a great connection to town using the district's Metro Line. This is a smaller airport than Dulles and only has limited capacity for incoming International flights. Of the three Airports which service this area (Dulles and Baltimore-Washington (BWI) are the other two), this is the best for getting city center access once inside the US, although BWI sits on the Baltimore-Washington line ($6.00 at time of writing), and one day the line between Dulles and Union will be open...
I did love this airport due to how security was quick and easy. WaS VERY CLEAN!!! It is a really pretty airport too!
It is too bad the rest of the nation's major metro airports have not figured out how to adeptly co-locate mass transit with frequent headways to many pertinent destinations and a compactly designed airport terminal where many travelers are familiar with the TSA song and dance. DCA puts even ORD, SFO and SEA to shame as the WMATA platform (and its exits) is brilliantly parallel to the arrival concourse. Washington will continue to lead the way when the Silver Line reaches IAD.
I have been to DC a few times but never flew in. This is first time for me. I liked The terminals that were clean and pleasant with tall ceilings and huge windows. Lots of sun lights brighten up the whole place!
Perfect location at Reagan National. Lots of hotels, restaurants, and bars two or three train stops away. Saves a ton of money and time instead of getting a rental car when my business is local. Also great to have this stop if you get stuck or delayed at the airport....easy to leave and get back quickly if you want to grab something to eat or get a drink outside of the airport.
