(June 7, 2020, 10:03 am)Daughter loves it here. Good fishing, plenty of shade, trails aren't too uneven- and it's CLEAN.
Plenty of biking and birding opportunities too!
Restrooms up near Henricus.
Only thing to improve would be at least a port-a-john at least halfway through the trails, especially for all of the fishermen -

(May 29, 2020, 11:46 pm)I wasn't expecting such a nice walk/hike. It's a long, flat (almost 7 mi) loop around the expansive lagoon incl the short spurs out to the water. The surrounding sounds of many different birds, plus a cool morning made for a super enjoyable 2+ hrs in nature. The only neg for me was the "trail" is actually a service road (two ruts of gravel & sand). The spurs were true trails. Beside hikers, I saw dogs, bikers, runners, people fishing, photographers, and kayakers.

(January 20, 2020, 2:57 pm)I have been to Dutch Gap many times to photograph the incredible variety of water fowl that can be seen there. I have seen new varieties of birds on almost every trip, quite amazing as the area is adjacent to a huge power plant. Well worth visiting, especially if you are a bird watcher or nature photographer.

(October 25, 2019, 11:47 am)A nice 4 mile loop if you are looking for a place to walk/jog/run. The entrance is behind Henricus Historical Park's visitor center. The loop goes around a lagoon which is lovely until you get the part that just walks alongside the Dominion Energy ash fields. That piece wasn't great but overall a nice spot to enjoy some time outdoors.
