A very welcoming church where everyone can attend and feel included. Diversity as its best which includes a good group of children, young, single, married, older, and LGBT members (yes, the church is open and affirming). The sermons each week are special and the pastor does a magnificent job in keeping the community engage in social justice, charity, and Christian growth.
Hope United Church of Christ is a great place for anyone looking for a vibrant, welcoming, and open and affirming congration. We visited a lot of churches before finding Hope and we've been coming for about two years now. We like that it's a place where everyone is learning and questioning and journeying together without judgement. Also, we enjoy the focus on social justice. Thete are lots of families. Our kids love it and look forward to coming on Sundays and seeing their friends and learning in a playful environment. This church was so supportive when we went through a hard time and really feels like family.
The first time I came to Hope UCC, I felt like I had found the right place. It is a warm, welcoming, diverse community. There are great children's programs and an awesome group of kids. The worship services are engaging, interesting and dynamic. There are plenty of ways to be involved in the church in whatever capacity works for you. The beautiful setting, watching the woods and wildlife from the sanctuary during worship, makes you feel a part of God's creation.
Whoever you are, whatever you believe, you will always be welcome at Hope UCC.
Love My Church! This church is all about making people feel welcome. With a fun fellowship every week, it is an involved place. People come to talk and to learn! They have great activities, like Love Wins - a concert with the Gay Men's Choir of D.C. So no matter where you are on your journey, you are welcome. Even if you aren't sure of the details or you just have questions about God and the world today, this is the place for you. You are welcome. And I love that. I feel welcome every week. The people are what makes this smaller church so amazing. Check it out!
Hope is a fantastic church that extends an extravagant welcome to all. It has a diverse congregation that is open and affirming and dedicated to social justice. There are many families with young children and they are lovingly included in the service. The service is very dynamic with a lot of participation from the congregation. Pastor Amber is great at both energizing a room and personally connecting with each person in attendance.
Hope hosts a fellowship hour after every service with great food and an opportunity to get to know everyone.
I love this church!
