Nysmith School for the Gifted

Nysmith is a great school. I was only here for two years but I learned a lot. We went on several field trips that weren’t just random but they supplemented what we learned in the classroom. The homework felt excessive at times, but in the long run, I developed a work ethic that has really helped me in high school.

Our daughter has thrived at Nysmith over the last 4 years. After struggling to find a school that was a good fit for her, we are thankful that we made the investment in Nysmith; she has made tremendous strides academically.

As a child psychologist, I am often perforce, in the role of recommending schools to parents, and the Nysmith School is top on my list! Carole and Ken Nysmith have worked hard to develop their great school, which, over the years, has become one of the leading private school's in Northern Virginia. The Nysmith School provides students with a well rounded and comprehensive educational experience that exceeds the expectations of most parents. The school's dedication to academic excellence is impressive and is evidenced by the competitive school placements for Nysmith alumni. Keep up the great work Ken and Carole! I have been here since kindergarten. This school is amazing and the teachers are nice, friendly, and helpful. The work is mostly challenging and the projects are fun. The overall curriculum has helped me to learn and grow so much. I have learned a variety things ranging from Spanish to WW1. I am in sixth grade, and proud to be a student at Nysmith School for the Gifted

My son started at kindergarten and is currently in 5th grade. It has been the best decision we have made to enrolled him at Nysmith school. The school program is well balanced, with the schools projects, field trips, clubs, music, and other activities my son enjoys every day at school.
