My favorite beach park. I love roller skating on the boardwalk while my babies have beach fun. A little hood at times, just mind your business and enjoy your family. Soccer, football and water gun. The people have a great time at this beach. Police are on patrol and they close the beach at sunset. (Your pets must have on emotional support vest or tag to be on the beach.)
Buckroe Beach has really been upgraded since I lives in Hampton 4 years ago. There is so much more seating, swings, bike path and the list goes on. I like taking my little ones to Buckroe due to the ease in parking and smaller crowds. We happened to visit during a farmers market event but still found parking and had a great time.
Perfect beach getaway without having to go to VA beach. There's a farmers market on Saturdays with all sorts of goodies. If you want seafood you can grab something from the food truck or walk to the tackle shop and get fresh seafood. The beach is welcoming anytime of the day, but it's especially nice first thing in the morning.
Totally worth waking up at 5am to go WATCH THE SUNRISE. You might even get a glimpse of some DOLPHINS! I recommend arriving 45 min before sunrise time. Make sure to bring a blanket, chairs, sweatshirt and cocoa. Even if it is a warm time of the year, it might be chilly that early by the beach.
I also recommend it for a typical beach day because it isn't a crowded at Va. Beach and there is a playground.
Late season, weekday emptiness, nice.
