This is one of those increasingly rare bookstores that will reward you if you take some time to look. There is a lot of local and military history, but also just about everything else too, from old science fiction magazines to gorgeous like-new hardbacks, and if you go to the back there is a fantastic collection of art books and a chair and lamp for if you want to sit and read for a while. The proprietor will help you get to books in the stacks or on the top shelf.
Ignore the reviewers who complain that it's disorganized. Poor things, they don't know how to look around, enjoy discovering hidden treasures, maybe even finding what they didn't know they were looking for.
A bit overwhelming and cramped but the fella up front welcomed us and we browsed through probably tens of thousands of old books all stacked upon one another.
It’s a neat place to search for books on literally any subject at all.
Really good collection of used books. The way they are stacked, you really need to be careful. Don't be shy, and ask for assistance.
The gentleman working was very welcoming and nice. We love a good bookstore and this store was very, very packed from floor to ceiling with books with stacks of books in front of other stacks of books. Signs are posted to ask for help with getting a book out of stacks or from high shelves as to avoid an avalanche of books falling. While it is neat to see so many books being taken care and for resell it also makes it very hard to really get a good look at the selections available for sale. There's no way we would have been able to walk through with our children. We would like to come back and visit again when we can take more time and really look through the books we are interested in.
