“My two school-age children attend the afterschool program and one of them is on the demonstration team. When both of our children hit elementary school age, we were looking for a program that would provide transportation and a lot of vigorous physical activity for our children. Instructor Harsh and Instructor Beers are both great at making sure parents receive clear communication with regard to how everything works if there is an inclement weather day, a 1/2 day, and what their hours of operation are when schools are closed. They also have structured times where the kids break out by age groups and some do martial arts lessons while others work on homework and reading. So that's the working parent's review of the place. Now for the participants' views! My daughter absolutely loves martial arts. It has really brought out a confidence in her that I have not seen in other activities she has tried. She takes to heart the messages of personal responsibility and discipline. My son, who is younger, is not quite as dedicated a student but he does enjoy all of the obstacle courses and games that the instructors build into the program. WWMAI's schedule includes some fun things for the kids like themed days and Halloween parties, so there's a special touch that makes it even better.”

“Dr. Rubin is my hero! I had 6 surgeries at Virginia Ortho due to MRSA that I contracted from the original surgery to repair my broken ankle. I was left handicapped and in severe pain. Fast forward a year and along comes Dr. Rubin. He fixed the torn tendon the previous doctor missed and scoped the subtalar that they failed to address. It made a huge difference in my ability to walk and pain levels. It was during one of our last visits that he told me about TOTAL ANKLE REPLACEMENTS and said to live with my ankle as long as I could. He said technology is making advancements and I would be a candidate. I waited almost 5 years and he changed my life! I had a total ankle replacement 7 WEEKS ago. He told me that it would be a year before I was happy with the results. Not true! It has only been 7 weeks and I can walk barefooted, I can ride my trike, I walk without holding onto things to steady myself, and I haven't had to crawl to the bathroom one single time! Every day I find myself able to do something that I had to give up when I was left handicapped in 2011. He is an amazing surgeon and has given me back my life! If my results are this good at 7 weeks I can only imagine what a year post op will be like!
