“I usually keep my expectations low at fast food. But I was really surprised here! It was late at night, which is virtually impossible to get good fast food service these days because of some throwaway excuse like"staffing." This cook out proved all that to be excuse making. They somehow manage to be fully staffed. It's not like there's some separate pool of applicants for cook out employees. They have the same challenges every other chain has. And the employees were fast, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly! Nobody grunting or mumbling at me and throwing my food at me without bothering to say a word to me. And the food was good too. Completely blown away. It's my new go-to spot when I visit the South.”

“You know barbecue place is going to be fantastic when they don't have to do advertising and the branding on the building simply just says BBQ, this place, hands down, has the best barbecue in The Short pump area and easily a top three for the greater Richmond area. Hush puppies for fantastic and way bigger than you thought. The same thing goes for the onion rings. The sandwiches were perfect and the house sauce works extremely well with their pork or the brisket and the nachos had plenty of toppings that you could cover every single chip. 10/10”

“Picked this place randomly from a Google search, and it turned out to be a really good choice. The menu is extensive, mainly American fare. I had a Reuben sandwich, which came highly recommended by our server, and my wife had the hot dog plate, with a slice of French apple pie for dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious. Jessica our server was friendly and attentive. The whole place had a family run, cozy hometown restaurant feel to it. Great place to have lunch!”

“A steakhouse that won't break the bank but still with a premium experience. Great food, all wood grilled. Great drinks and excellent wine list that doesn't break the bank. Try the St Francis Cab. Very tasty and great with steaks. Gave Firebirds a 4 star rating because our particular waiter wasn't great. I noticed other wait staff were very good. Probably needs a better training program for better service consistency. Great location at the Short Pump Town Center mall and very close to the comedy club Funny Bone where we caught an act.”
