I was really pleasantly surprised by this unassuming little place, as were my two dining companions. The mofongo was as good as what I’ve had in Puerto Rico and the sweet plantains were absolutely perfect, not mushy at all with a nice caramelized crust on the outside. Empanadas were on point. And the margaritas?!? Real margs, no sour mix, accompanied by lots of fresh fruit. This place is a gem in the rough, go eat.
Excellent Meal, portions were large, service was great, food was delicious. Hits were the bandeja paisa, steak fajitas, chicken quesadilla, chicken burrito and the margaritas.
Very friendly staff. Our food was delicious. I had the chuletas (pork chops) served with rice, a yummy salad with fresh avocado slices and a small bowl of red beans. My husband loved the steak tacos and flavorful refried beans. And their salsa is great! We will certainly return to try out other menu items.
Our waitress recommended the Colombian cheese bread as an appetizer, and it was SO good. (It's called Pandebono, if you want to look it up.) I had the Pollo Blanco from the Latin portion of their menu, and everything on my plate tasted good. The avocado salad was well seasoned with a bright lime dressing on it, the beans had great flavor, and the chicken was delish. (They also have a Mexican portion of their menu with standard Mexican fare available to those who are more into 'tried and true' favorites rather than branching out.) The wait staff are friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic about the food they serve which I could tell was made with love. I will definitely be back.
I didn’t realize they were opening today. My wife saw an open sign when she was driving home from work. So we had to go. We were some of the only ones in the restaurant, which is very clean and looks nice. They do not have alcohol yet. Looks like they have applied for an ABC license. They have signs posted on the doors.
The customer service was good. The food came out within an acceptable amount of time. I ordered the chicken mofongo, pictured below. It was so flavorful. The plantains paired so well with the chicken and onions. It needed a little extra spice, so I added the house made habanero sauce. I would absolutely come back.
