Fort Magruder Hotel and Conference Center

I love the lobby and all the new decor in the common areas downstairs. But once you get upstairs to your rooms, the hallways look like the Backrooms and everything is old. The rooms were okay but the staff were nice. The free breakfast was good and I especially like the pancakes.

Rooms are a bit dated, carpet stains, porch sliding was locked, bummed I couldn't sit on porch. Bottom of the door oddly short about an inch light from hall shined through. Breakfast was good, indoor pool nice, enjoyed learning the history of this hotel, clerk mentioned it was haunted, lol. It is dated but being renovated, antique but quaint. The bathroom is very small but cute. I would stay again.

My daughter absolutely loved this hotel. The pool was fun. The breakfast was good. If it had sausage or bacon added it would be perfect. Between us we had waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit, muffins, and hard boiled eggs. The staff were all friendly and kind. There is no housekeeping service available during your stay, so that’s a bummer, but we were only there for a weekend, so we did not run out of clean towels or have to ask for anything. Our trash filled up quickly, though, since there was only one wastebasket and that was pretty gross.
