“It’s such a lovely place to dine overlooking the Stonehouse golf course. We dined during a beautiful summer evening when they had live music. We enjoyed wonderful drinks and appetizers. We have since returned and enjoyed grilled salmon, fish and chips, tacos and pizza—each were excellent. If you order pizza, try the Virginia Supreme pizza— it is amazing! A young man named Michael made it for us—hopefully he’s working when your there too :) We genuinely enjoy dining or getting takeout from the Stonehouse Grille—it is a wonderful addition to Toano.”

“We have been very fortunate over the years in not requiring electrical services to our home, but unfortunately that meant I had not previously become acquainted with Mike Daigneault, owner of Williamsburg Electrical Services. Happily I reached out for help by a visit to the nearby Electrical Union Office, and they provided a short list of Union Shops that would come to my home and provide the skilled and qualified electricians I wanted: for although the job was a very minor modification to the house wiring—the replacement of a superfluous attic exhaust fan with a standard switched two-plug outlet—the location in the attic was a critical safety matter requiring that it be done to Code. I am happy to report that Mr. Daigneault understood my concerns immediately, and the two skilled electricians who were sent were completely informed and provided with suitable materials to accomplish the goal I sought without any further discussion. I was almost astonished by the speed and efficiency of their work, and I am delighted with what they accomplished. They were in and out so quickly that I could not remember the names of the individuals, but those who know me well will not be surprised to hear that—both of the men were very friendly and courteous—and professional—but they moved like lightning! The whole experience has made me very happy—even the cost was very reasonable, and I am also very grateful to the Union’s Business Agent for his taking the trouble to assist me in addressing my needs!”

“The food was excellent! The grill was about to close at 4:00 PM and the chefs cooked up a feast for us. I am amazed that the prices are still reasonable in the wake of skyrocketing food prices due to supply chain shortages since the museum has a captive audience. This normally means outrageous prices similar to what you would experience in a airport while traveling. Between the (11) people, we pretty much had everything from burgers, Eastern NC style BBQ, fried fish, and pizza for about $103. That’s a little under $10 a person for those keeping score. That’s with no drinks. I would come here just to eat if I was in the area. Well done JS Cafe!!”

“We had to stay here unexpectedly on a Saturday night. We walked in after 11pm and was able to get a room. The clerk David helped us and he was excellent! Not only was he very funny but he was extremely helpful. The room was beautiful! It looked like everything was brand new. The beds were very comfy and the ac was ice cold. They had breakfast available but we walked right next door to a.nive little pancake and waffle house. Overall this was a great experience. We have been to Williamsburg many times and have never even heard of this place. We will definitely be back for our next trip! Big Thanks to David for making us feel at home at your hotel!!”

“This place, a mixture of old and new, is divided between 2 buildings in the same shopping center. Both are worth going into, although I preferred the building with the old gas pumps outside. My understanding is that antique stores are having a hard go of it and like many places nowadays has bottled jams, peanuts, fudge, new crafts, reproductions , new jewelry and clothing mixed in. Neither place is heavy on real antiques or even used items, but I found some unique and cheap Halloween items that were only $1.50 and $3. The other building had a Halloween room filled with wonderful unusual Halloween items, some gigantic although this section was more expensive. Since I made a purchase I was happy. Employees were also very nice and helpful. The Williamsburg area has a reputation for being overpriced but this place was not.”

“This beach is incredible. We were able to walk out into the water so far and still could touch. I felt like I was in a movie. It was so fun and the water was warm. I'm talking warm enough that I could just easily walk in the water with comfort. It was like warm bath water and the people there were really nice as well.”
