“Ahh, the Bouy. This has been my go-to convenience store for over a decade. Great place to go for smokes, beer (good selection for a gas station), snacks, and of course gas. They recently started selling fried chicken, I have yet to try it but it smells amazing whenever I walk in. Speaking of smells, this place has a unique odor that stays with you - it's not necessarily bad, just a fact. Some people from out of town went here on a beer run and remarked about their new Bouy scent when they returned. The staff is friendly if you are friendly to them. Expect to see lots of folks scratching lotto tickets ???? and hanging out. I have witnessed a few drug deals in the parking lot so roll 'em up. ”

“The camp ground is a peaceful quite place, and the guy running it is polite and courteous. The place is a little run down, but for the price was decent. We needed a place to sleep when we weren't fishing, and it filled the bill. There's a boat ramp for smaller boats (we had no trouble launching a 20ft pontoon) and good place to tie up the boat. Its a rustic place for people looking to spend time on the water, don't go here looking for the Ritz. It's 15 min from Wal-Mart and closer to local vendors. Only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is the stove in our lodge didn't work, but we were given a discount.”

“I prefer Smith Point Marina when I want access to the Chesapeake. They are convenient and no-frills. They have a garden hose for washing salt off your watercraft. Every time I have stopped there is no staff to take my money for using the ramp ~ it is on the honor system where you take an envelope and write your vehicle info down then drop it off in a box. I do love its simplicity. My reasons for four stars is 1) Parking for vehicles with trailers can be limited. I have always come on what appear to be slow days where I have been at the dock for a long time and seen nobody else come and go dropping their boat off, yet the parking spaces are near full. One time I found one spot and barely fit. 2) I have wanted to get stuff from the store before, but often had trouble finding an employee. Ideally, when you want to buy something it shouldn't be hard to find someone to pay. I do find these minor, and in no way will they deter me from recommending this place. I love it here and it is very scenic. I cannot wait to return.”

“Pebbles, formerly known as Ella, was so wound up from outside of her cage, she went wide, jumping from couch to couch and looking out the windows and opening the cat room using the DOOR HANDLE. I could not get her to settle down one bit. I just kept grabbing her and hugging her, telling her she was so pretty. I took a chance on this wild thing. I filled out the application and was approved a few days later. I took the two hour drive back to pick her up. She was that same ol' wild thing I had seen during our introduction. I got her into the car after a brief potty break and away we went. She was jumping from window to window in the back seat and I kept my cool and told her to sit, stop, get down without yelling. Eventually, she began relax. Hence, the picture attached is when we got stuck at a stop on a bridge heading home. She kept her head on my shoulder most of the way home. She has been that relaxed sweet dog ever since she walked in the door. Not jumping on furniture, or tearing things up, running wildly. She is perfect. Thank you so much Northumberland County for not giving up on this sweet girl.”
