A good place to go for a nice, long enjoyable walk in the woods with friendly rangers and nifty gift shops. The nature is great with lots of unimaginable features like a fall webworm, and even a chicken of the woods mushroom. Pet friendly with drinking bowls and little dog-sized water fountains. The one downside is that there were alot of mosquitoes, so bring bug spray. But hey, what are the employees and managers supposed to do about that?
Nice little history lesson. Didn't know all of this was around. Would want to go back when I have more time but definitely a good tour
Great place to go walking or bike riding. I want there today but sit at the old plank rd and rt3 red light for about 5 minutes due to morning traffic congestion.
Recently learned my great great great great grandfather fought here and was close to the area so I stopped by just to see. To walk in the footsteps of my past. It's weird being right on the edge of a main road however so very thankful this land has been preserved so I could stand in the past with my grandfather.
Cool park. They did a good job describing what went on here during the civil war. It is spread over a larger distance, so some form of transportation will be needed to see it all, but since it isn't really hear anything, you will need transportation to even get here. Good stop between DC and Charlottesville for history buffs.
