Alena is wise beyond her years. Easy to talk with and so helpful. Coastal Light Counseling is incredible!

I have been seeing Alena for quite awhile now. She is by far the most patient, compassionate, understanding, and unbiased professional one could ask for. Regardless of her personal beliefs or lifestyle may be, she has never made me feel judged or that I could not speak openly about any topic. I used to see Alena back when she practiced out of her home office and I loved the warm, cozy, beachy atmosphere she created there with the electric fireplace, ocean sounds, fresh coffee, and her dog! Now I see her at her Shore Drive location which is an amplified, elevated version of her intimate home office. Her space is well decorated and the waiting room has both a seating and kitchen area, so if you are arrive early you can make a cup of coffee or tea and sit down before getting started. At her new location she also has treadmills if you prefer walk-and-talk sessions, and she has mentioned many times that she offers other types of sessions if sitting down one on one sounds intimidating. I cannot say enough about how much I think everyone needs an Alena in their life! Whether you are working through something traumatic, working on managing anxiety/stress, working on your relationships, or just working on personal growth, Alena is the bomb. She is also great about discussing medication, I was struggling to determine if I needed medication or a serious attitude adjustment for quite some time and she did a great job helping me get educated, she gave me her professional opinion and a recommendation letter for my physician, and helped me make an informed decision about that very sensitive topic. Again she was able to offer this advice without making me feel pressured or guilty for making the best choice for me. She has also helped me talk through work stuff, like dealing with horrible managers and asking for raises and such. Also last side note, she offers virtual sessions so you can FaceTime or use her secure web portal thing if you're not able to physically drive to Shore Drive for a session, which helps scheduling sessions during the work week.

Alena is the best!!! She’s been so helpful in helping me cope with my anxiety with helpful tips and tricks to help keep myself grounded throughout the day.
