Seen a grey wolf, family of ducks, mama deer and baby, And a hawk an crane. Love this place. It cost 3 bucks and we'll work it!
Fun loop to drive. Usually you'd see more birds but due to the wind on the day I visited I didn't see any. There were tons of deer though!
It has auto gate controls Open/Close. There is a rest area with a paved short walking trail for birds watching. There is another trail about a mile long along the road but may not open during winter and spring time. During the winter, may see more waterfowls and eagles. At spring, there are more little birds.
I finally found this place!! I love that you can take your time and drive this path. Beautiful views of lots of birds. I will be back
This is the lower section or the "driving" section of the wildlife refuge. If you haven't been here you need to put it on your list asap. It's stunningly beautiful, we saw about 10 deer, tons of birds and the scenery is absolutely lovely. This was a very nice local surprise we didn't expect. Looking forward to dropping in with our kayaks soon and exploring the river.
