My son (13) has been taking piano lessons for about a year with Erin. I am struck by the level at which he is playing within a short period of time. Erin has a very unique way of teaching by allowing her students to select the music they are interested in and will adapt the piece to their playing level. Her passion for music comes through in her teaching and she ensures that it is fun for her students. We are now doing lessons via Skype, which has worked out very well. Would highly recommend Erin!
I've been taking violin and bass guitar lessons with Erin for several years. Since I took up both the violin and bass guitar as an adult, Erin really
tailored her teaching style to my needs and schedule. She's always excited about songs I want to learn and is very encouraging when I struggle with more difficult techniques. The recitals she organizes are always fun as she likes to get students to coordinate on songs together, which makes performances more interesting and enjoyable.
Both my son and daughter have been taught by Nick for about a year now and I cannot believe how much that they have improved in such a little period of time. The love and interest that my kids have for music has only been growing and positive ever since Nick has coached them. Unfortunately, halfway into the year, Nick had to move away, but that didn't prevent them from continuing to learn. I was skeptical about virtual lessons from the beginning but Nick really proved me wrong. I feel like it has been the same productive, fun, and quality lesson that it was before. Nick is without a doubt the best piano and guitar teacher I have come across and I am so blessed to have him as my kids' teacher.
My daughter began guitar lessons a year ago and immediately clicked with Nick. He's very personable and adjusts to the needs of your child. Nick moved away from us a few months ago but we didn't want to lose him. We've been able to keep up our lessons via Skype and it's worked well. My daughter looks forward to her lessons each week and has come so far in her technique. I highly recommend Nick!
My son has been taking piano lessons with Erin for over 2 years now and I am deeply impressed by the outstanding job she has done. It is obvious that she is a natural when it comes to teaching kids because my son, who is shy, felt at complete ease upon meeting her for his first lesson. Erin has a good feel for young children and their fluctuating attention, seamlessly transitioning from performance to music theory and vice versa so every session is productive and captures their interest. She teaches in a way that is fun for my son and I like how she encourages her students to play the type of music they like, be it classical, jazz or pop. She is the utmost professional when it comes to promptly responding to e-mails, text messages and phone calls and takes care to be punctual for lessons at our home. We love her style of teaching so much that when she moved out of the area, we have gladly continued lessons remotely on Skype. If you are searching for a caring piano teacher that nurtures in children a love for music that will continue to flower throughout adulthood look no further than Erin Machado at Music Quest! I give her my highest recommendation
