So impressed by WellHaven, the veterinarian team & staff. Dr. Graham is awesome, we came to WellHaven for a second opinion; she diagnosed our best geriatric buddy, Ivan, with a rare disease called Diabetes Insipidus after listening to his symptoms & our concerns. She made a huge difference in his quality of life! I can’t thank her, the vet partners, & staff enough for their hard work, dedication, & the absolute best quality of care provided for our pups yet!
Our hedgehog, Snuffles, was treated for enlarged abdomen. Unfortunately, the first visit revealed nothing, but Dr. Graham was very detailed, compassionate, and was very adoring of Snuffles. Unfortunately, two weeks later, his condition worsened. I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours.
Snuffles ended up with a terminal diagnosis without a treatment plan that would work for his condition. Dr. Graham felt he was in great pain.
She offered a 24hr pain injection to keep him comfortable so that we could spend one last day/night with him.
We held him, gave him scrambled eggs and sardines, which he loves, and took him to a Dahlia farm in the morning where he nibbled at flowers and drank rain drops off the leaves. Took him down to the river to play in sand, and let him lie in the grass and absorb sun, sounds, and fresh air.
We took him in, reluctantly, that afternoon.
They were gracious enough to give us a private room to spend time and say goodbye to our beloved little hedgehog.
They were patient, assured he would be sedated and not see, hear, or feel the euthanasia procedure; also, explained again what his symptoms/diagnosis/prognosis was,, as I questioned any alternatives that would allow him quality and extended life.. While I heard a scream after they took him, I want to believe that it wasn't him.
We picked up his ashes yesterday. 1 week after, and they expressed their condolences...the ashes were in a very nice wooden box and included a beautiful imprinted wall plaque with his paw prints and name inscribed.
It's never easy to make the decision to put a pet down, nor is it easy to lose them.
I appreciate the staff and their support during a difficult time. Their prices are fair, availability and convenience are great, and professionalism is equal to the empathy and care they provided, which was amazingly genuine.
They were so gentle with my Wendell. Took such good care of him. At all times they were professional, kind, caring and friendly. I highly recommend❣️
Dr. Graham is thee most wonderful vet that we have had the pleasure of meeting. Dr. Graham and the WellHaven staff treated our dog so gentle and kind. We have found our new vet for sure!!
