“Seattle Colleges serves all of metropolitan Seattle and its surrounding communities and comprises the largest community college district in the state, educating more than 45,000 students each year. The first classes were held in the Edison Vocational Technical Institute on Capitol Hill, when Seattle Community College—now Seattle Central College—opened in 1966 as part of the public school system. The State Community College Act of 1967 established college districts apart from the public schools, with a mandate to provide an open door to education for all who seek it. A long-range plan called for three campuses in the city, and planning began immediately for North Seattle College and South Seattle College. Community College Act signing ceremony Community College Act signing ceremony, 1967 By September 1970, all three colleges opened together for the first time as a multicampus district. Seattle Vocational Institute, affiliated with Central, joined the district in 1991 under the state’s Workforce Training and Education Act. The district also includes five specialized training centers located throughout the city: Health Education Center, Seattle Maritime Academy, and Wood Technology Center, affiliated with Central. Georgetown Campus and NewHolly Learning Center, affiliated with South. Students choose from an array of more than 130 academic and career and technical education (CTE) programs, the largest number in the state. The curriculum has led the way as the Puget Sound area moved from a manufacturing and resource-based economy to information-based industries. Like the region, the college population is dynamic. The student body is the most diverse in the Northwest, reflecting nearly 80 different languages spoken in homes throughout the city. By design, each of the colleges reflects its community. While the colleges are an integral part of their neighborhoods and offer certain unique educational programs, all are comprehensive and offer programs in college transfer, career and technical training, adult basic education, and continuing education.”

“Carl is very kind and caring and makes you feel 100% comfortable! I spoke with him on the phone about what I was experiencing and he came up with a list of which essence would be best for me. He asked thoughtful questions to better understand anything I had mentioned to make sure we had the right mix of flower essence. I feel so much better after taking them, it’s been about a month and I started to feel more focused and calm after about a week. I highly recommend speaking w Carl and flower essence for anything you may be going through, mentally or physically.”

“This church is so welcoming and inviting. A non hearing group is here and worships right alongside their hearing counterparts. It's beautiful to see. The pastor has a fresh word for the congregation every weekend that's obviously well prepared and well thought out. The praise team sings beautifully as they invite the congregation to worship and praise God with them. It's just an overall lovely church to visit and if I didn't live so far away I'd transfer my membership!”

“Pros: -The owner Ana is so friendly and wonderful. She went above and beyond to cater to gluten free and dairy free breakfasts for us. -We always looked forward to the delicious coffee and food. -The location is amazing. So close to downtown, but far away enough that it's quiet. -The mansion is very neat- it has an air of mystery about it. -Our room was clean. -It's really fun to be able to chat with other guests over breakfast. Cons: -Street parking can be inconvenient. -You're not able to adjust the heat in the room. -There were generic "gym" soap dispensers in the bathroom (not small travel size lotions, etc...). -The owner had a party the first night we came and as we were falling asleep some tipsy party members found themselves upstairs and attempted to get into our room- which was disconcerting. Additionally, when the party was going on, we were not able to use the communal areas. -Also, any smells of food cooking downstairs will make its way upstairs into the rooms. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here if you're into the unique charms that bed and breakfasts have. This one is especially interesting because of the history of the mansion.”

“I have lived at two of Jeffrey's buildings for almost 6 years now and have had positive interactions, and individual care with him whenever needed. He was easy to reach and communicate with. I lived on the top floor of one building and he helped me take my big box of groceries up since the elevator was broken. This type of care is why I have continued to live in his buildings.”

“Jim is the best. Replaced a bad wheel bearing and tie-rod ends in my 17 year old Jeep Liberty. Quality work at a price that made keeping the vehicle worth it. Highly recommended!”

“Inclusion here or freedom from limitation because of disability, looks good on this campus. From what I could easily see for example, the very safe and ideally appropriate dedicated bike lane also serves as a much more satisfying path for wheelchair users. Witnessing an in motion motorized wheel chair free from congested street traffic, and freedom from navigating jarring bumps in the sidewalk was nicely inspiring and encouraging! Thanks.”
