One of our favorite local hikes! I would definitely suggest downloading a tide app if you want to make the most of planning your hike and beach time. During the summer months the tide will go out to ~ -2.0 - 3.0 feet which exposes a whole series of sandbars that you can walk along. The dogs and I will occasionally start at Picnic Point and hike down while the tide is still going out. Just make sure to give yourself plenty of time if attempting, I've seen several people have the tide start coming back in and sneak up on them. It does get super busy on weekends to I'd suggest going early, or parking in the neighborhood and hiking down as the parking lot can be a bit of a nightmare when it's packed.
Love this park, down fall parking lot is very small. Goes both directions great for less people, but if you drive there and might have to wait awhile for a spot. Ranger is amazing.
Omg I love it I never would of though is so big and cleand after all the people that come here
I've had the great fortune of growing up with this park. The ranger and his family are the sweetest people, and they of a fantastic job of keeping the beach, park, and trails in top shape.
