Friendly people, and an amazing veiw.
Jackie & Mike are wonderful hosts! We were so grateful to experience true hospitality while staying two nights at this picture perfect B&B! Enjoyed making our own woodfired pizzas and drinking wine together, played some pool in the game room and took a day trip East to enjoy the snow! Such a cool way to start our holidays off! Thank you so much POSV - we will be back! :)
Ponderosa at Sky Valley far exceeded our expectations. We stayed here the weekend after July 4th for two nights and were blown away by what this place has to offer. This place was a slam dunk at every corner.
Upon turning into the driveway you are greeted with a very well kept property complete with tidy garden areas and beautiful views of the lower prairie land and pond that exists on the property. The pictures on the website are very accurate as to the beauty of this location.
Greeting us upon arrival was the host, Jackie. She showed us around the property, which is full of delights, such as dedicated game building, jacuzzi, multiple gas fire pits, lower prairie and pond area, indoor and outdoor gathering areas, and the main hall where breakfast is served. All of these spaces are very well kept, clean, and quiet. Jackie and her husband obviously take pride in keeping the property in excellent presentation.
We found the gas fire pits to be a relaxing end to the night. There is one under a gazebo with seating for many and another that over-looks the lower prairie to the west - great for sunset! Both nights were complete with a smores kit from owner - a really nice touch!
Our room was on the upper floor of the main cabin. It has views of the lower prairie and pond and is well lit with several windows on each side of the room. A gift basket during arrival made us feel welcome. The air-conditioning worked wonders at night during the more humid days. The bed was comfortable and all linens were perfectly cleaned. There is a dining table, a microwave, and mini fridge with bottled water and soda. A TV with several streaming services is there, but with the outside grounds being so inviting we never turned it on! The room is full of games and a decent guitar. I took several trips in the automated massage chair, which was amazing after long hikes.
Breakfast is served in the early morning in the downstairs hall; an open airy space with tall vaulted ceilings and a kitchen on one side. Jackie will talk to you about breakfast the day before and ask if you have any dietary restrictions. My wife and I are basic when it comes to breakfast and opted for eggs & bacon. However, we were also offered croissants, yogurt, waffles and much more (not to mention really good coffee)! What made breakfast really fun was chatting with the owners while eating.
This B&B is located in an area of Washington that has lot to offer, especially for outdoor activities. It’s basically situated just west of the Cascade mountain range. A 10 mile drive east on the highway gets you to waterfall and ice-lake hikes that are both challenging and rewarding. There is a fun little German town named Leavenworth an hour east of the B&B; a bit touristy of a destination but worth a visit.
I can’t say enough about the hosts. I've never stayed at a B&B where I felt so invited to roam the grounds and enjoy the amenities by the owners. I got the impression that they truly enjoyed our presence. My wife and I are obsessed with B&Bs and this one may be the best we've ever stayed. You won’t be disappointed here.
Wonderful hosts on a beautiful property. It was an absolutely delightful stay!
We were lucky enough to spend a week at this beautiful spot. The first thing we noticed as we drove up is how beautiful the grounds are and the amazing view of the pond. Our room was huge, with a comfy bed, cozy sitting area and a well appointed bath with heated floors. The fridge was stocked with water, drinks and a homemade treat. There is plenty of room to spread out, including the Hawks Nest with a pool table and popcorn machine, a lovely covered firepit and a downstairs sitting area with a huge tv. We really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and felt spoiled by our hosts. There are tons of things to do from fishing to go karts, but I really enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and watching the sun go down. I can't recommend this place enough. Maybe if you are lucky Jackie will make you chocolate chip banana bread.
