It's a beautiful park for sure. My family did a smaller loop, starting from this south parking lot, and we loved the trail. But like the others had mentioned, the last part of the trail is very steep. I'll definitely come back to this park, but next time I'm going to explore from the north parking lot to see if it's any better from there. I'd love to come back here with my parents, but I know I won't because of the last part of the trail. :(
This was our first family moderate hike and it was tougher than we expected. Quite steep, so we had to take several breaks. Also with a dog it was a bit scary at times. Overall we enjoyed the views and that most of the hike was covered so we didn’t get too hot. Probably better for more experienced hikers than we are.
We went to the North parking lot first, but it was already full by 10:40 am. So we drove to the South parking lot. It is a lot bigger and their were fewer cars. The trail is a bit of a steep climb at first, but not too bad. The trail had some puddles and muddy spots which isn’t surprising for this time of year.
Great place for hiking, awesome view! A short period of trail are very steep, be careful!
