There's not much to see or appreciate at first glance but the information boards really help fill the gap, allowing visitors to imagine the size and scope of the arsenal in its heyday. With enough funding, they may be able to commit to a faithful reconstruction of the arsenal, based on archaeological findings and historical archives.
This is the former site of the U.S. Armory at Harper's Ferry. The only remaining parts of this sizable and elaborate structure are buried underground now. There are rumors of future archeological expeditions on the site.
