Lots of great hiking! I hiked to the top of the east tower, beautiful views. If you have bad knees, definitely bring some walking sticks or take the shortcut and drive to it since the tower itself has lots of steps too. 3 different levels of observation on the tower, lots of hiking trails of varying length which is great. I took one of maps offered and was glad I did so I could see which trails connected and where to navigate back to where I parked.
Beautiful WI State park with well kept trails and spectacular views. Campgrounds and facilities are well maintained. We lucked out and the water, toilets, and showers were still operational weeks after the Oct. 1 shut off date. A welcome suprise. Firewood can be purchased in the campground from the camp host or down the street at the nearest convenience store. We're definitely coming back!
Beautiful place to enjoy a day off! Plenty of things to do like hiking, photography, picnic, there is a pool, kids playground, and many other activities. You must have a sticker for the wisconsin parks or pay the daily fee. There grill on site and many picnic tables
We enjoyed a day trip to this park in May. Our kids (6 and 4) enjoyed climbing both towers—the views are well worth it. We took a short hike and enjoyed all the wild flowers as well as large boulders by the trail. The vault toilets are kept clean and maintained. There is a very nice playground and picnic area. We visited midweek and saw less than 10 people. It’s a quiet and peaceful gem of a park and is such an easy drive from Madison.
Hiked a good portion of the trails here today and it was a good hike. The trails are pretty easy/medium difficulty where the toughest parts are going up/down the trails leading to/from the towers. I didn't hike the trail on the far eastern part of the park, so can't comment on the difficulty there.
The bathrooms in the Friend's center were really nice and clean.
