Trade River Retreat Center

Was fortunate to be able to spend a beautiful weekend at The Trade River Retreat Center. It was everything I could've hoped for, from the sound of the stream to the beautiful sunset glow around the property in the evenings.

The Trade River Retreat Center is one of my favorite places in the world. I've gone a number of times for private artist retreats and each time came away rested, rejuvenated, and inspired. The cozy cabin, quiet woods, and trickling river warmed my heart and created space for my body and brain to rest. I spent time reading and writing indoors as well as exploring the expansive woods and swimming in the river. There is no shortage of inspiring activities at Trade River.

Posting as a returning guest at Doug’s wonderful Trade River Retreat Center. This place keeps calling me back - wonderfully nestled in the woods, alongside the Trade River peace and tranquility abound and I always leave feeling inspired. I love the fully furnished kitchen where I can prepare gourmet meals for myself, or for friends. Bedding is cozy and the decor speaks of a world well traveled. Make sure to try the espresso machine which makes mornings decadent - enjoy your morning cup on the deck or screened in porch and listen to the river passing by. I have come up with some of my best ideas here. This place is pure delight!

We had a lovely stay at the Trade River Retreat Center! You cannot beat this beautiful spot right in the quiet Trade River. Surrounded by nature, trails on the property and excellent hiking nearby. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, or need a long term restorative/artist/writing retreat, this is the perfect spot. The owner, Doug, is a master of details and has maintained the feeling of wilderness all while tastefully decorating the house and property with rustic and delightful treasures. The wood fired sauna is an extra bonus!
